Love it, plain and simple.

What i don't love about his though has nothing to do with the actual video, but more with the majority of idiots reviewing this. Yes we get it, anime is really popular, and this probably has something to it that is like some animes, but it ISN'T anime.
Zeurel you should add the links to each of the characters so that we get a better idea of who they are and why they do wha they do. 'Cause at first when i watched it i thought Diz was a girl lol And to those reading and wondering, "Who is Diz?" Go to Zeurels page and look up his art he has character sheets for all but the Poeple on earth.
Okay on to an actual review:
The animation was great. Smooth and fun to watch. One thing that might be good to work on if you want to avoid it looking accidentally anime is make sure the eye's don't go through clothing or hair just so we can see them. This is prevalent in mostly Anna. Though i think eyebrows are okay to go through hair just not hats lol
The voice acting was Outstanding throughout. My only problems where Diz and Anna's voice. They aren't bad they just are a little bit anime-esc in their enunciation. Sorry to say this after my rant lol. And there is one missing sound that doesn't really hurt it, but it might help, but when Baby does the movement to crack his knuckles no sound was made.
The overall sound was amazing, the music for me was what helped distinguish it from trying to be an anime.
Diz reminded me of Dexter from the good old "Dexters Laboratory" cartoon in a way, especially the glasses and how they move with his eyes, and since i read his character sheet he's similar in his intellect and tech savvyness. These are not bad things just fun observations. The voicing is done decently but I think it doesn't feel as natural as some of the other voices.
Shrike is just over-the-top, and all out fun. I loe how his left arm has the words "Physics LOL" and some other words appearing in the chest area when he got shocked by Anna. The guy who is doing his voice is also doing a very good job about the acting, it feels like he tried to imagine himself actually doing the actions and made the voice much more fluent. The laughter can get annoying at times, but it works for the character i think.
Baby is essentially perfect, both in voice and action. So no real advice for him.
Beebs seems a lot deeper than people seem to be giving him credit for. I think this especially when he talks about the trophy. He's also great fun and i'd love to see him use his random singing more in the next one since he does that apparently. (Again referencing the his sheet) And he's just a great sort of comic relief even in a movie full of comic characters. And his voice acting is done excellently as well and it would seem as though the person who did his voice got either a better program or a better mic than the other videos, cause it is a lot clearer than the other video's that Beebs is in.
Mel was a fun character, but nothing was really done with her other than the explanation, i hope she gets more than just a bit part in the next version.
The plot, while possibly not being the most original, is still done quite well none the less. Especially when taken into the context of how a lot of these contests are entered. Instead of just having them magically be in the setting of the main theme of the contest you dove deeper in the process of telling a story and gave us a chance to start loving the characters.
I think the plot is great because of this fact. And I think because the majority of the other viewers who reviewed this with negativity about the style of the look of the movie and plot of the story, thinking it has some sort of Anime basis are both ignorant and stupid. They neither took the time to look at it from your point of view, nor took the time to even do the research on what the contest this is being used for (though i didn't either, i just knew i was for something like that).
I guess it just comes down to common sense, and it would seem that the a good majority of the residents of this site lack the capa...(PM me for the rest if you want it =3)

Stupid fast moving text! lol

Okay, so i've noticed you've already been given plenty of crap for this one, so i'll try the best i can to give you some good tips.

First of all, SLOW DOWN SOME OF THE PARTS A LITTLE! lol Yes I realize you meant for it, but it's a little distracting to have random words pop up that you have to watch his like thirty times before you can even catch one of the words. This is mostly for near the end.

Also, the replay button at the end is a little touchy, you should probably make it easier to actually click on. I do like the look of the button when it's hovered over though.

In the beginning the gun doesn't seem to even be attached to the person lol

Anyways, not awefully terrible for a first submission, just keep working on it. =3

Very creepy

The build up to the point of the attack was done pretty good. The whole "Can only move when it isn't in direct eye contact" sounds like an interesting premise, but at the same time it's kind of, I don't know, I like the thought at the same time as not.

The animation is smooth, stuttery at times, but that more adds to the atmosphere of the movie.

One problem I see with this is that it doesn't get enough time to really develop any sort of character, well development. It just feels like it was a quick thrill, then just kind of died along with that guy.

I like it, and i hope my mean words aren't discouraging. I'm just trying to be helpful to ya. =3

PBass responds:

Heh, the stutteryness was due to me rushing, but it's good that it added to the mood for some people. The reason I didn't include any character development is because this was a quick short and I was killing the three guys who had the most screen time. So I just gave them three cliche personality types, Coward, Reasonable, Doubtful. My next project will hopefully have much more development in both character and plot. Thanks for the review!

Decent

But there is just no substance. It has potential. (Even as disturbing as that is) Maybe focus on the art style you've got here and make something original out of it.

Instead of going for what seems (to me) like a half assed attempt at humoring a terrible event, and make a fully assed attempt at an original comedy. Lol

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't aweful, it just needed more work. The whole rush thing probably kept if from being any better.

Anywho, keep up the work! =3

Snaws responds:

i might thnkz.....

Sorry dude, but it need some work.

1.) Why is there a boombox in his bathroom? lol

2.) The "bathroom" looks like a living room or something.

3.) The background for the pipes look like they're from "The elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion" and that should be noted. If it isn't, then tell us where thay are from.

4.) The build up to the monster jumping out was timed kinda funny (not funny, "haha" but the other kind) because it ended up not being very scary, since you can expect it to be jumping out. A surprise needs to be surprising, we shouldn't know whats coming till it happens.

5.) Maybe start a bit earlier on the projects so you can get more detailed with the work.

Sorry about the criticalness, but it's better to be critical, than to just say, "OMG THIS SUCKED BALLS" or, "DUDE was awesome" or even, "It startled me, and still does." as one of the "reviewers" pointed out lol

Anyways keep on trying, you'll do just fine. =3

Assios responds:

The reason why there is a boombox in the bathroom and that the bathroom looks like a living room, is that I am also working on a big project, and since I had to make this in a few hours to upload it on Halloween , I used one of the backrounds and the boombox from that other movie ;P Yup, the background for the pipes is from Oblivion. And yeah, this did not turn out as well as it could if I used more time on it. Should've started earlier, but then again, I am working on a larger project, so it had to be this short if I was gonna upload something for Halloween ;P

Thanks for your review! ^^

Not terrible...

But it was far to inconsistent visually.

Yes, the visuals where good, smooth and such, but the people continuously changed in the way they looked, like every few seconds lol

This is especially prevalent in the guy that had his face peeled off. He would go from having a jawline, to none, to having a random hole in his face. Then the jaw would reappeared near the very end for the close up.

And even stranger, is if you look closely to the guy with the shotgun when the camera goes in for a close up before he dies, there is a hole by his eyebrow, and you can see the background moving behind him.

Also, in the beginning, when the hand ripped a part of the tombstone off, why did it reappear when the title went away and the hand stared running?

I'm sorry for being so critical, but these are some of this things i noticed, and i want to help you out as much as i can, because this could actually be a really good one. =3

Ah memories

Reminds me of a rocky and bulwinkle cartoon, i mean when he tries to pull a rabbit from his hat that is.

shaheen92 responds:

Glad to hear that it brought back memories for you.

Hmmm.....

Okay, my first thought when i saw the title was, "Oh god, another DBZ cross-over parody shit". But this ended up being some really high quality shtuffs. The only problem i had was that i had to turn it down to almost mute in order to watch xD The music and sound at times is WAAAY to loud. But other than that great =3

Not to bad actually

It was fun, i liked it =3

A giant lovable teddy bear here to hugs kittens. =3 FEAR MY "=3" face!!!!!!
