Awesome

Wow, you did a lot to this since the last updates. I can say that the changes you've made where welcome ones.

I liked the calmness the intro presented, and the gradual build-up to the breakdown. I'm one for the song that take their time to get to the most intense part rather than just blatantly starting off loud.

The changes to the breakdown where brilliant. Taking away the drums for longer and leaving that pad to play, and the reintroduction of the instruments in the speed-up/eq change worked out really nicely.

I liked that it became much more varied toward the end from the other versions, i liked the reintroduction of the heavy part with the variation that was added.

I liked that the beat in this wasn't overly generic, or very repetitive, it had enough in it to keep the entire song interesting. And all (with the exception of the crash cymbol) the percussion worked really nicely in the sound department.

The vocals fit very nicely with the song, and you did a great job on getting them to sound right. And also the melodies/harmonies where nice and flowed very nicely.

I also like how you could almost split everything up into small groups of just percussion's, or synths and stuff and they would still be interesting to listen to. I also like how the percussion parts felt (to me) like they where the melody in a sense, like they helped push this song to be even better.

My biggest gripe was the crash cymbal. I know that you have to deal with the default and stuff, but it felt very hollow going along with the rest of the song, it just seemed out of place, and it seems to be the only thing that wasn't touched in the different versions. This is the main reason for me not giving you a higher score.

Sorry if that seems like a silly reason to lower the score, it was just really distracting for me, even over the rest of the song.

(Sorry that this is pretty much a copy and paste of my review on TAP, i did change up and add a few more things)

A bit inconsistant in sound, but fun

I liked the rather playful feeling of this song, lots of upbeat rhythm and melodies. But the big problem i have with this, is that you seem to be trying to use as many sounds as physically possible, and while it does add variety, it makes it seem like you're having trouble having good varied parts in single instruments.

It was fun, and you did do a good job on it. Good luck! =3

Ok that's exactly what it is. TY for comment :D

Drums a little to...

Subtle in the beginning? I dunno, there isn't much to this, but but does what you said it did, calms. It has that sort of "awww okay, i get to rest now" type of thing from older video games, just with more realistic drums lol =3

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

Thanks for the comment on the drums... I guess I do have to raise the volume on them a little (didn't want to make them TOO prominent in this piece).

I was missing listening your piano

I like the melodies that this has going for it, he fact that there is a small amount of repetition actually makes this better, it gives the melody a different sound each time then you went and changed and added more here and there.

The breakdown/solo was cool, but it would have been nice to have heard a beat change up or different beat structure for this section, but then again that might just be the fact i'm not used to listening to this sort of musics yet lol.

I know it's the particular genre that this is meant for, but maybe try some different bass kit and snare variations, keep it from being too repetitive.

But all in all it's enjoyable =3

I know it may sound a litle conceded...

But honestly the best part for me was the part i was in. Everything seemed to fit together really well even some scariness in the transitions. The only problem i see in a lot of these is that certain instruments are more powerful than others, and well it's rather quiet all around, i have to have the speakers turned all the way up to hear it clearly. lol anyways, i'm just glad i didn't mess things up xD I love Bjras vocal parts of these, they seem to give them more fluency, or whatever the word you could use =3

Fried chicken!!

Wow, we need do something like this more often, but maybe a few more rules to make it sound even more interesting and intricate. Like, there was a lot of effects going on that made this a bit muddy in sound, which for a bunch of pieced together parts it still sounded awesome. Maybe we could either limit, or even take away effects and see what we could make with pure instrumentation. =3

Rig responds:

Some instruments in the synth part are defined by their effects, though.

Pretty

This uses distortion in a way that i think more people should, to accent on the beauty, rather than to make it dirty or "Evil" sounding. While those sorts of things are nice to have every once and a while, things like this are always nice to hear. This almost have a Metallica feeling, i mean they used to have this thing about having the most beautiful intros before their song, and i can just heard those heavy guitars fading in at the end to crush the beauty. Anyways nice job on a jam =3

Haha, thanks dude. I agree. :)

Feels slower than the original

But it sounds pretty good. I was about to give this a 9/10 but then you changed it up and made it your own, and then it was awesome, pray a bit weird. I could complain about the overall quality, but then i remember hearing that you where thinking of quitting, and realized that we wont be getting quality for free from you, and that we should take everything you and well yeah. Nice job on this one!

And because i've seen this in a lot of reviews, i want to repay the favor =3

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks man. I don't know why I put the score. There seems to be soooo much zero voting around, I want to let people know it wasn't me. haha.

Anyways, I agree with the review. The first bit was at a lower quality everything, to try to achieve that old school feel. I admittedly didn't do any post production stuff. This is just a volume mixed tune. Newgrounds will get the higher quality stuff too...I just don't have anything new that isn't going on the album. Maybe I'll rock some jamming off tonite.

Thanks again, dude.

You where right about the begining

I just wonder, why didn't you add more to the part that came afterward, it had a nice set up for something, but it just repeats until it loops. I'd give you a better score, but unfortunately it just needs more that a repetitive repeating part that is nice the first couple times, but just gets a little boring after a bit. It sounds like it could be pretty good though.

watzmann responds:

Haha, that's exacly what i think! I really wanted to add some synths or something but i just couldn't find any decent ones.

Thanks for the review,

watzmann

Pretty good

But it felt like you relied to heavily on that one pad/synth and it didn't feel as deep as the description would intend. The nature sounds where nice, but maybe they where used a little to long, and should have given way to new sounds to go along with the main pad/synth. Not to bad though =3

A giant lovable teddy bear here to hugs kittens. =3 FEAR MY "=3" face!!!!!!
